Under 14 (yr 9) Football Team

We teach the basics of football whilst creating an atmosphere where children can flourish; building social skills, confidence and character. The most important thing is that the children enjoy their football and enjoy coming to football too. We pay less heed to results than we do to the way the children conduct themselves with their opponents

and each other. This age group will play competitive matches and their results are published on the FA Full-Time website.

What is Futsal?:

Futsal is the FIFA/UEFA approved style of small-sided football it is played on smaller pitches and mainly played indoors. It is played between two teams of five players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited subs are permitted, with a 4 seconds rule to release the ball. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular ball. The surface, the ball, and the rules create emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, as well as ball control and passing in smaller spaces. This is an excellent way to develop football techniques that can be translated into the 11 -a-side game.
